Fort Campbell advises that call-screening features introduced with iOS 26 can interfere with receipt of installation ALERT! emergency notifications. The installation recommends adding its ALERT! telephone number, 703-454-0563, to contacts on affected iPhones.
Why the contact matters
Call-screening tools may treat an automated emergency call differently from a saved contact. Adding the number can reduce the chance that a valid installation alert is delayed or screened. Personnel should still listen to or read the complete message and follow the prompt used to acknowledge receipt.
Use more than one warning method
No single notification channel is guaranteed to work in every emergency. Installation alerts should be paired with Wireless Emergency Alerts, official Fort Campbell channels, National Weather Service warnings and chain-of-command guidance. Families should review notification settings after a phone or operating-system update.
What this does not change
The saved number does not replace 911 and should not be used as a general information line. During an active emergency, follow the instructions in the alert and use official sources for updates.
